30x165mm APHC-T Sting Armour-Piercing Hard-Core Tracer – Sting

The 30 x 165 mm AP-T STING Round is intended to engage light to medium armoured ground and air targets with armour of up to 30 mm. The round engages both soft (aircraft type) and hard (IFV type) targets and has more than 50% higher armour penetration compared to the ordinary AP-T Round.

The AP-T STING Round features same velocity, mass and ballistics as ordinary AP-T Round which allows use of the AP-T STING round together with HE-T and
HEI Rounds without modification of the gun aiming system.
The AP-T STING projectile consists of Tungsten penetrator, integrated into lightweight body. On impact the penetrator starts to progressively break-in through the armour, forming a bundle of high-speed fragments. The higher energy of the fragments ensures more damage and higher kill probability behind the armour.

This round is to be used on automatic guns 2A42, 2A38, 2A72 and modifications that are mounted on the following carriers:
• Infantry Fighting Vehicles BMP-2, BMP-3, BMD-2, BMD-3, BTR-80A, BTR-90 and their modifications
• Air-Defence Complex “Tunguska” and Pantsir S-1
• Attack Helicopters Ka-50, KA-52 and Mi-28 and modifications

The ammunition is safe in transport, storage and handling and ensures the reliable performance of the gun systems in all weather conditions.
